What's going on with this vid, brian? you just dickn' around with your video skillz, CHIEF? sound quality is crap... to be honest. I LIKE it! ;D it's just the beginning! I have many more plans for it! I remember back in 97 when we did the Devourment promo-demo recording, I was tuned to F# "Low scale" on a 6 string. I had to use flat wound Jazz strings etc then when we recorded MTD I tuned up to C# and tricked out my guitar sound so much that sound guys at shows would throw up there hands not knowing what to do with my sound! My wife would have to run to the Mixer and help them! Worked out good for me then, why stop now? ha ;D I don't want to sound like everyone else! never did! I'm OK with a work in progress! we will see when we get a CD and start doing shows etc. I bet when its all said and done and I get what I hear in my head on CD! Your going to be glad I didn't settle for the best Guitar center has to offer! Or you won't like it still? but I caught shit from people back in 97 too and I'm glad I didn't settle then either ;D But hey, I'd love to hear some of your guitar work/sound etc! post it I'd love to hear it?

Hey Brian check out the intro Slam riffs, i love this sound thick chugging but it doesn't have the kinda thunder you get with your guitar sound. Check it out. Vulvectomy from Italy (total MTD style Devo rip off)
And check out these intro Slam riffs. Cephalotripsy (Another MTD era Devo rip off)
What do you think of these?

I love it- sounds better than the "A-typical" deathmetal guitar that's been used over and over. Ultra Thick, Heavy & Rich...'bout time somebody came up with a new sound for the Underground!

Oh snap!! ;D haha!! read my post again, bro. seems you misread my comment as an insult to your playing skills. the "crap" comment was referring to the video's sound quality, which made it difficult, albeit not impossible to get a feal for the guitar tone you have going. i mean just compare it to the other vids, sarfraz posted. sounds fuzzy as hell. far be it for me to critique anything "the great" brian wynn has to offer, hehe!! it would just be nice to hear a clearer version. relax bro, it's all good!!

Yeah it's hard to tell the depth of the sound on a Youtube video. I downloaded the mp3 file Brian sent me and played it in my car stereo with a 12" subwoofer and amp and it's pretty insane.

I've been seeing this Lord Worm comparison a few times and I appreciate that it seems to be meant as a compliment but I never liked Lord Worm's vox. Kevin to me sound more in the vein of Frank Mullen of Suffo but with a crustiness to it. He was insane live with Sintury and he's been killing it at our practices.

Nahh, I didn't take it personal Chief! "ya like Chief don't ya? hee-hee" The first vids from practice you referenced where live recordings in small rooms and we play loud "ask Hound! ha!" so yeah, they are rough audio! I recently got what I needed to be able to record straight from the mixing board so the audio will get better! "I hope, haaa!" The Project video was recorded direct "that IS the sound, hee-hee" pure signal! no interference. The fuzz is absolutely intended to sound like that "ya kinda need actual speakers" to hear it's true color. The low decibel frequencies are made for PA applications. I designed it that way ;D I play through a PA "no cabs" to test it out. In all fairness, I should better explain the video so people will understand why I'm so excited about it! ;D I'm not going to give up all my tricks but I will explain some of it better! That project video is not the "complete" guitar sound. It is only part of what I'm working toward. What you are hearing is the solid-state low end of the the sound, like I said I play though a PA system my head is actually the mixing board. I have a 2 part structure "solid-state Low end" and Tube Mid/High end design. the sound on the video is exciting because its a new type of low end for DM guitar. I specifically test each decibel, frequency etc and adjust everything out precisely as I want it for the purpose of the sound "Live & Studio" guitar cabs can't handle what I'm doing! and Bass cabs are designed for a certain range as well. That sound is rare and beautiful, anyone who has spent time trying to get Low-tuned, low end distorted guitar under control "especially solid-state" knows what typically happens when you reach the octaves I have achieved, it just thunks out like 808 signals! and loses all its tonal quality, "I do like some thunk obviously" most people give up at that point and run to Guitar Center and buy what everyone else is using. A lot of guitarist are using 2 maybe 3 different heads & cabs for a specific sound but are still limited, so it usually stops there. sure you could buy a 7 or 8 string or get huge gages etc but you will only get so far even with that! "trust me I've tried" sure they sound great! nothing wrong with it! but it's not what I hear in my head for MESHIHA! and just about every new guitar sound I've heard isn't far from the other really. I know there limitations and why the are controlled by them and have found a way to go beyond that. So I finally got the basic "low-end" solid state I have been waiting "years" to hear pour out of my speakers! I still have much work to do on that alone, BUT I'M GETTING CLOSE! My guitar setup is quite complex for a guitar sound alone. I still have a lot of work ahead of me! but when I'm finished OH SHIT!! ;D Most of ya ll don't know the story behind the MTD recording and the problems I had at shows back in the day trying to get that sound out of the PA or the studio, "Poor Braxton ha!" I've had sound guys run onstage at sound check hollering my speakers where blown out, throw up there hands refusing to do the sound, you name it! And in the studio for MTD haaa! I'm surprised Braxton is willing to go back into the studio with me "but he is ;D" I don't have time right now to get into that story! we will leave it at "poor Braxton" for now! But yeah, I getting closer each day to having something original for myself and all you guys/gals, who love there DM as much as I do! I hear a lot of cool guitar sounds but nothing to far from each other. Thats why I asked you what you sound like, or what you think is the BOMB of DM guitar sounds. I want everyone to try for more! and keep advancing the DM sound and music! Sure a lot of the genre has been advancing but at the same time, not really! I want MORE! so do my band mates! we don't just practice and settle with anything, we experiment and push each other to try it the same, sure, but what about this way? or maybe try it that way! I'm not the race car driver of the MESHIHA operation, smiling and waving at the crowd! I'm the mechanic who keeps jacking with the engine until it explodes or wins! and starts all over again until it keeps getting better each go around! ;D I think DM is an amazing style of music. I think the guitar sound etc is just as important as the notes/beats played! sang whatever! It's part of the machine and needs constant pushing! ;D There is going to be a lot more to the guitar sound this is just one of many break throughs to come! ;D I still LOVE ya, Chief! ;D I get slammed all the time! doesn't really bother me. ;D

Yeah I do feel some Frank Mullen presence in Kevin’s vocals but they lean more towards the style of Lord Worm (just my personal opinion) and I love both those vocalists. What Kevin’s delivering is kinda mix of both those vocalists and of course he’s adding some of his unique “Demonic” roars courtesy of his adam’s apple ;D People were going nuts on Metal-Archives forum when they heard Kevin. But I was wondering why hasn’t Kevin joined this board yet? Brian tell Kevin that his fans are eagerly awaiting him to show up on this board and address everyone. Please bring Kevin on the forum. And Brian in response to your huuuuge post I just wanna say, do what you feel best for the band. I’m digging your new guitar sound, doesn’t sound like a gazillion other Death Metal bands out there. A decade ago you created something that wasn’t usual at that time and people criticized you back then but now the album is considered a cult classic of the genre. We shouldn’t be meddling with the Mad Scientist’s business; eventually he’ll come up with something really unique and exquisite that everyone will be compelled to compliment it.

Definately diggin your 'outside the box' approach. Keep testing those waters... your bound to find the 'Titanic' of guitar sounds/tones/riffs if ya just keeping rooting around.... the sound you hear in your head will merge with your real world sound.
